Hey Aesha (00:00):

Has this ever happened to you? Maybe you're at a coffee shop or a bookstore, your favorite beauty supply or at the hair salon, and it just happens. You hit it off with the dope sista. You're having the best conversation ever. She knows everything that, you know, the dopest spots in the shop, or maybe the newest book to read. And then it happens, she says those, 9 or 10 fateful words that we all hate to hear. You cool "And I don't usually mess with females like that though." Now, just when it seemed like you were starting a new acquaintance-ship, a new, beautiful friendship.  She had to go and say something like that. If you're like me, you're ready to run for the Hills. Or maybe not. Maybe you're thinking she's just never had a good friend. Maybe you agree. And maybe you're the type of person who even says that type of thing.

Hey Aesha (01:13):

Whoever you are in this scenario ¡Sis! I challenge you. Take this ride with me. We are going to examine sister-- black sisterhood, all types of sisterhood. We will tear it apart. We will put it back together. We will write a love letter to it. We will challenge it. Question it! We will hold sisterhood accountable. We will use this space to welcome others who felt outside of the sisterhood into the sisterhood. Welcome to SIS the podcast. Before we get started on this journey together, I need one Itsy bitsy, tiny Weennie favor from you. I need you to tell me how sisterhood has challenged you.
